“Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle.” Abraham Lincoln
How many time have you said to yourself, I’ll wait to see what happens for the promotion you want. Heard, I will wait to see if my boss will give me that new project I really want. Better yet said, I will wait until my friend decides to be more than friends?
Waiting and patience is a virtue, but sometimes you need to take action regarding the things you want. By action, I don’t mean ultimatums. What I mean is that you need to do something that will convince others to take action. If you want that promotion, act as if you already have the promotion and show others how good of a job you do. Do research on the project you want and talk to your boss about how you would start organize and implement the project. If you want to be more than friend, tell the other person your intentions.
Remember, the first step in going after what you want is asking for it. If you haven’t asked for what you want – what are you waiting for?
