Beauty of Life’s Landscape

I am training for my first 5k run in a couple of weeks. However, I constantly look at my speed, distance, and feet when I train. As I relate this race to life, I have focused on achieving a goal- pressing to get the accomplishments. I have spent most of my focus trying to obtain the medal. I get there 99% of the time. I spent my effort worrying about whether I could make it (my distance) or how I could move forward (my speed).

In life, I realize you need to focus on how you are getting to the goal. Focus on the people you meet along the way. Capture the beauty of life’s landscape. Connect with people on a deeper level, spreading some happiness along the way.

As I run my race, look out for me. Instead of looking down at my feet, I’ll be looking out to see the beauty in you.
