I was driving to a meeting on an overcast and dreary day. The weather itself wanted me to run around and go back home. At a certain point in my journey I crossed a bridge. As I neared the top of the bridge I was able to see low grey clouds covering the city. At the same time, I saw the sun peeking out over top of those clouds. It hit me, the scenery was a reflection of me that day.
The clouds represented how I felt at that exact time gloomy, overcast and low. I felt that way because a situation came in and was cast over me. It showed me that the clouds are temporary and should not define me.
What that showed me was that – yes I was very upset but I am going to rise above the clouds and shine brightly. I need to rise above the situation because I can’t let it block my light. The light that others want to and need to see. If I keep on going, I will rise above it all.
