Finding the Intent

Decisions, decisions, decisions… Do I go her or do I go there? Do I say yes to the opportunity? Do I accept the friendship? Do I take the job? There are so many things we decide daily. Some minor and others major. When you are faced with a decision, figure out the intent. What is your intention on doing something? Is it for good? Is it for personal gain? Is it for approval of others? Knowing why you are doing something helps you to live life with purpose and awareness. If someone is asking you to do something, ask them of their intention. “Why do you want me to do this?” Understanding their intentions will help clarify if you want to say yes or no.

  • Why am I really doing this?
  • What is the intention of the action?
  • What are the positive and negative side effects?
  • Will I later be able to stand by my decision?
  • Is your action coming from fear or courage?
  • What is the intention of the action?
  • Will I be able to achieve the intention?
